Port Forwarding with VPN

Rate this question

Question

Anonomoose

I'm trying to follow this guide to forward a port for torrenting purposes, but it doesn't mention anything about a VPN.

I've have a UDP port open in my Torguard dashboard with a pinned VPN IP. What do I do from here?

On a side note, I've seen it recommended that you shouldn't open a port via your router, however as far as I can this is what the guide linked to above instructs you to do. Is the guide dangerous, or am I misunderstanding?

Hey there

You can request a port forward here >> My Services >> View Details >> Management Actions >> Port Management

It normally processed instantly now.

IF using a VPN with a port forward then you do not port forward on the router at the same time, this can expose you, when using a VPN, it’s the VPN that needs to have the port opened.

Regards

I I also have a question about this.

I'm using the premium LA server with dedicated IP.

I'm also using deluge.

So, should I forward a port from the TG dashboard, and/or should I use UPnP in the deluge client?

What other network extras should I use while connected to TG VPN LSD, NAT-PMP?

Thanks,

Hello,

No need to use any of these when under a VPN, we simply open the port for you, we don't support UPNP.
