Can a VPN or Torguard bypass At&t data limit

At&t just announce they will limit internet users to only 50gb per month.  Must buy their TV bundle to get unlimited data usage.  I don't want to pay for the TV for $50 and there's a penalty of $10 if I exceed the 50gb.

My question is torguard vpn bypass this? If not, is there anything I can do to avoid paying more to at&t.  I thought about switching to Sonic, but the phone rep said they are partnered with att, and they have to abide with the new rule. And forget about Comcast.

I would think that since data has to travel through your isp and to / from your computer, regardless of how your connection is masked, a VPN wouldn't help you bypass the bandwidth limit. Anything from streams of youtube videos, to file downloads, and even uploads and torrents all have to transfer data between your computer and the servers they're hosted on.

As for a solution, short of switching providers, I'm not sure what you can do.
