Whilst not a torrent user, the location of the vpn server endpoint is where you appear to the world to be from, which since the data retention laws I would not use an australian server (even though you are protected by Torguards process), but instead a server from the "preferred list" such as netherlands. I am a researcher (semi retired) and due to data retention laws that the US imposed on Australia, connect via a European server and this ensures both privacy and security. especially when dealing with medical research or other sensitive data.


Otherwise your other option (and from recommendations I have received from friends who do use torrents), look at a seedbox (of which there are many like yourseedbox.com around), which will provide you that extra level of protection as well
