Hey

So new to the service I like it but I have a question with respect to using the torrent proxy .. Is it possible that my actual ip could leak at anytime ? Would it be better to use it via my VPN ??

Hi Mike

Its more likely a proxy to leak than a vpn however if setup correctly its unlikely. we will always recommend the vpn over proxy due to the encryption, if using a proxy on its own, make sure you disable UPNP, NAT-PMP and UTP.

From tests we can see at times these can open ports outside the proxy connecting directly to you.

I'm confused, on your page "How to setup Torrent Proxy with uTorrent/Bittorrent" under Preferences - Connection it shows "Enable UPnP port mapping" and "Enable NAT-PMP port mapping" both checked.

  1. Should we uncheck thses?
  2. In utorrent, where do we disable UTP?

Thanks

The guide will be updated but yes, i would suggest you do so - to disable UTP is explained at the bottom of the guide.
