Question

Greetings all,

I am trying to configure Torguard on my raspberry pi (Raspbian) for the first time using this guide:

https://torguard.net/indexori.php?rp=/knowledgebase/174/-How-to-setup-TorGuard-OpenVPN-On-Raspberry-Pi.html

All appears fine when I type:

sudo openvpn TorGuard.Canada.Toronto.conf

but my external IP address doesn't change when verifying in the next step or using any other site to check. I do notice the following appears though:

Quote

Cannot resolve host address: ca.torguardvpnaccess.com:1912 {Temporary failure in name name resolution)

I also tried connecting to Vancouver but get a similar message. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance!

Hey @Eric F

That Guide was Posted a Long! Time Ago , the .ZIP File Containing the Config Files are likely outdated!!!!

Please try going to >>> https://torguard.net/tgconf.php?action=vpn-openvpnconfig

You can Generate a NEW Config at the Above Link >> The old Configs used to use "remote ca.torguardvpnaccess.com 1912" but the NEW configs use >> "remote ca.torguard.com 1912" which you can see is different. There may be other differences as well so i would suggest Not using the premade Old! configs listed within that guide and to Generate your own New ones.
