I'm getting a lot of blocked sites that used to be accessible

I've only been using the Google DNS servers for a few minutes as I initially thought that using OpenDNS could be the issue, but switching to Google didn't seem to resolve.

My banking websites are all blocked, when I use YouTube or Google I have to do captcha's almost every time to prove I'm a real user, Imgur is blocked, a couple days ago the Razer website wouldn't load until I turned off my VPN, etc.

I like using a VPN, but it's very frustrating to constantly have these issues.  Does anyone know if there's a way around it?

I've also been experiencing this issue. I use the UK VPN, and over the past month or so I've noticed a significant decline. I'm getting much lower speeds than normal, much higher pings, high jitter, compared to how it normally performs (as someone that's been using TorGuard for years). But also I'm noticing an extremely high amount of blocked websites, as well as frequent captchas.

It's basically every day that I run into multiple websites blocking TorGuard, giving 403 / Forbidden / Access Denied error messages when I try to access them. I understand that it's out of TorGuard's control if a server administrator decides to blacklist a VPN IP address. But on the other hand, there's absolutely no point to paying for and using a VPN service if it's impossible to use said VPN to access online content! So it's really up to TorGuard to solve this issue, either by communicating with server administrators to unlock IP addresses, or by changing the IP addresses to unblocked ones, in order to ensure a smooth and working service for customers.

I can provide a short list of websites I encountered just today alone (7th Jan @ 11:33), that are blocked using the UK VPN with an IP address of 146.70.83.234:
• https://www.amd.com
• https://www.hm.com
• https://who-called.co.uk
• https://forum.bodybuilding.com
• https://www.adobe.com
• https://www.tesco.com
• https://bank.tescoplc.com/contacts/general
• https://www.millets.co.uk
• https://www.very.co.uk
• https://www.freeletics.com
• https://buyee.jp
All of the above websites give a 403 / Forbidden / Access Denied error message with TorGuard, but work instantly if the VPN is disabled. I know one of the links is for a bank website and they often block VPNs, but I'm pretty sure that worked before, and none of the others are in that category.

I've also noticed a significant increase in captchas over this past month. If I attempt to use Google to perform a search query, I almost always get a captcha screen first before I can see the search results. I also get this almost always when trying to look up Amazon price comparisons on the website CamelCamelCamel.com. These captchas are the very bad ones that Google shows when it really doesn't like somebody. They make use of fuzzy and blurry images, have very slow switches between images, and frequently say the captcha was entered incorrectly even when it was definitely correct. This results in having to go through the captcha 15+ times before it finally works and lets me through.

With all of the above, using TorGuard has become an extremely frustrating and almost unusable experience over the past month, at least with the UK VPN.

Shared IPs can get blocked on certain sites for various reasons, we do offer alternative subnets and Dedicated IPs but we are refreshing IPs and increasing our pool over the coming month and adding additional locations in the same cities.

Several months later, this is getting horrendous. I feel like a second class citizen when I'm using Torguard. I am constantly having to do captchas, and even when I complete them some websites still say sorry, IP range is banned or something like that. It's happening for numerous mundane website and forums. It's been steadily increasing in severity over the last year or so. It hasn't been getting any better from my perspective.

Shared IPs will always be filtered or blocked often unfortunately, there are many who will use VPN purely for abuse which is why these blocks happen - we could add more IPs switch them out to fresh but this will happen over and over again.

Most online web services use a process to build trust, one of the ways to get by captcha's or mail issue's is to use a Dedicated IP, continuously use it and build that trust over a short period of time, this will then never happen.

Nicolas Maduro complains too that he can't reach news pages and other weg pages he is used to check. Do you guys think he is using torguad or is there anybody who might come up with brilliant idea of asking dns operators why the hell they censor and on behalf of who. Those pages which you can not reach might give you real info/real news and that seems to be too dangerous for normal Joe. Good luck in finding commercial company which is not driven by political agenda, ask Julian about justice.

These aren't TorGuard IPs. They lease bandwidth on the same servers all the VPNs do, it's a matter of both economics and there's safety in numbers. I would not feel as safe using TorGuard owned servers, it would make it easier to track back rather than those IPs being spread out from a huge pool of VPN providers. That's why it's hard to blame TG directly for server problems.

The downside is the fact that these IP blocks are almost constantly utilized by VPN connections, it's not hard to develop a black list and market it to anyone willing to pay for a subscription. It is what it is. To be honest I find sites that require me to turn off the VPN are sensitive financial sites or block for geo location laws. Not a big deal and I am glad that my financial institution blocks VPNs.

Again no, you are incorrect. They use lists offered by other companies like quad's dns which is used by US police too and blocks a lot inappropriate things. Not a single company, especially not mid/small sized with blocking any ip unless their admins block it due to ongoing attacks.

There are many, many possible reasons, starting with using public networks to encrypting private communication within corporate networks as you do not want to admins to spy on you. You can not come up with a single use case? They want to avoid that scammers and others are able to use the VPN to access their services anonymously. This is understandable. Why should you use a VPN to access your banks webpage ? Is there any benefit ? Simply disable the VPN for these pages, and you're good to go. That's the fastest solution I can provide.
