Port forwarding for remote access of my tranmission torrent client

I could use some guidance setting up port forwarding so I can have remote access from my phone to my transmission torrent client on my PC.

 

I went to the setup page and requested to forward  the ports that transmission uses (port for incoming connections 26609 and port for remote access 58764). I have pinned my ip so that torguard connects to the ip that I have forwarded the ports.

 

When i check the ports without torguard running, they are open. With torguard running, ports are closed.

With torguard active, I can remote access transmission on the same network, but cannot from an outside network.

Without torguard running I can access transmission form the network and from an outside the network.

 

I'm thinking its something simple, but I cant see what it is.

when I am trying to remote access transmission, I'm supposed to connect to my actual IP from my ISP right? Or do i connect to the IP that I have forwarded the ports (VPN IP)?
