TorGuard iOS client blocking CarPlay. Is whitelisting possible?

With TorGuard activated, my iPhone will not connect to CarPlay.  Apparently, the local IP connection is blocked by the TorGuard client.  Perfect, it is doing what it is supposed to do.  However, I would like to make a whitelist exception for my local CarPlay connection.

How can I accomplish this?  Is there a manual configuration I can make?

Can the TorGuard iOS developers please code a switch to allow CarPlay?

I know there are LOTs of people with both CarPlay and TorGuard on their iPhone.  Why should we have to not use a VPN while driving?
