Hi, is the GUI scaling working? My app appears giant with either setting... I'm on a laptop with 1080p and it takes up about 1/6 of my page.

Hello,

Can I ask what OS you are running there?

Regards

Hey :) ,

So after Cleaning Uninstalling the previous Version with Revo Uninstaller and Installing this new Version I noticed something that seems Off.

I am connected! After Successfully Connecting a couple of hours passed and i Opened the Torguard APP to Disconnect and it shows the Login page???

So it says i am connected! But it also shows me as Logged out!!

Thanks, im passing this to the devs right now to check - do you know if this only happens with wireguard?

Regards

I am using Wireguard Yes , But I Have not tried other Protocols Recently so am unsure. It Happened about 3 times for me yesterday one of the times i was just watching a show and all of a sudden i got a Notification popup saying wrong username and Password ERROR from the Application so i clicked the APP to bring it up and Again it was on the Login Page WHILE i was Already Connected and hitting the Login Button Worked but After it Re-Logged in it caused issues i had to Disconnect/Reconnect to get everything to mesh properly again.

Is there a possibility you could enable logs on your side under Settings --> Debug (restart app after enabling), once you catch the moment grab the client side logs and send them to Andy or James at [email protected] - thanks

Hey folks,

Since 1 or two versions back my TG client takes forever to connect. Around 5 Minutes or so.

If I restart my PC (even imidiatly after booting) client connects super fast like I am used to.

I am using wireguard and already tried to uninstall everything including TAP, rebooting and installing again.

I think I may have missed something. Credentials and settings were still there.

Any thoughts how to solve this so wireguard connects fast on first boot?

Regards

Hey :) You can Try Running an Uninstaller Program such as Revo Uninstaller or something Similar to Find and Delete Remnants of things left behind such as settings and stuff , Alternatively you can try doing it Manually if you want.

1) Uninstall Torguard >
2) Delete the following folder >> C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\VPNetworkLLC renaming "user" to your OS account name.
3) Open Regedit and delete the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VPNetworkLLC
4) Reboot (important) and then re-download and install the latest build from here https://torguard.net/downloads.php
5) Go to more settings --> general tab --> click restore defaults-save
6) Go to more settings --> general tab --> click Refresh next to Refresh Server List
7) Go to more settings --> network tab --> click clean cache and refresh cache in that order
8.) Try Connecting Again see if there is any Improvement at all.

Hey Dom1no,

I followed your steps (manually), no improvement at all.

Do you have any other ideas?

Well if you followed all those steps then it is likely something on your computer such as Firewall/Antivirus Possibly Interfering with the connection causing it to take longer. Mine connects in like 3 seconds..... If you don't have any security Software installed then i guess you can open a support Ticket and maybe Support can try and help.

There is a small chance it is your settings within the VPN Application causing the issue i will post a picture of my settings for you to look at.

Just curious, if you disable "Seamless Reconnect" under Settings --> Network tab, does this help with your connect times?

Have your developer start testing on laptops. I have a few i7, 16gb Win 10 Pro systems and Torguard is a dumpster fire on all 3. These are all commercial grade Dell and Lenovo off lease w/ a fresh O/S install. One thing I find curious is a fresh download of Torguard has and outdated version of Wireguard. Were you aware of that?

Hello,

Can you elaborate? wether its a laptop or a desktop makes no difference, you are still running on windows 10 which is perfectly fine - we recently moved most of the US to a new Dc and it may be that you are running on an old IP cache, try below to refresh this:

1) Go to more settings --> general tab --> click Refresh next to Refresh Server List
2) Go to more settings --> network tab --> click clean cache and refresh cache in that order
3) Reinstall the latest build https://torguard.net/downloads.php and retest please (if you haven't already).

Let me know how you go. Thanks

Said setting is greyed out for me. I couldn't find a way to make it accessible (see attached screenshot).

Also, the really slow connecting on first boot is also true for openvpn. On reboot openvpn and wireguard connecting time is fast as lightning.

Any ideas how to solve this? I would like to dump the habit of rebooting as soon as I sit at my PC...

edit: I am using bitdefender as AV. Is there maybe a known incompatibility?

Wireguard switched to a new kernel, so now Torguard Wireguard connections are broken now 😕

I use the WG windows client frequently for other VPN connections, and the program updates constantly. Now WireGuardNT is enabled by default. This seems to break Torguard 4.7.4

Upon connecting I get the Could not block outside DNS-Servers.. however, it doesn't connect.

Uncheck the kill switch and then seamless reconnect and retest - BitDefender can however affect this too, I would remove it, reboot and test the app so we can isolate your problem.

Yes you are Correct i Updated to the latest Version of Wireguard to Test and Torguard will Not Connect using the latest version of wireguard "0.4.9" It says "ERROR Could Not Block outside DNS" So i went into Torguard settings and i turned OFF block outside DNS and i Also turned Off seamless Reconnect and tried Multiple Combinations but No matter what it Refuses to Connect using Wireguard 0.4.9*. Doesn't seem to matter what settings you use.

Looks Like>
Torguard is using Wireguard >0.2.3 or 0.3.4
Latest Version is :                  >0.4.9

Looks like the only solution for now is to use the Torguard Installer to reinstall the Old Version for now.

From Wireguard itself:

It looks like the TorGuard client is only looking at adapters with a component ID of "wintun" or "tap0901". If it doesn't find those, then it doesn't set an adapter address. The solution is for TorGuard to broaden its search to also look for adapters called "wireguard".

You have to be kidding! Why are users fixing your software? No raises or gold stars for you this quarter.

So is this going to be patched or do we need to run the outdated version of Wireguard?

We already have a fixed build just about ready it will be out soon - it should be out within a couple of days, at the latest Monday.

This is excellent news to hear! I was uneasy using such an outdated WireGuard. I look forward to the update.

I had the same issues mentioned above with 4.7.4 on Windows 11 with WireGuard 0.3.4 version working.

You can try the beta build from our downloads page for the time being :)

I'll wait for stable, but hopefully the next build fixes my disconnecting issue with WireGuard on my laptop. Have tried so many things to fix, so I'll just wait and see with this new build as it still happens even on 4.7.4.
