Simple VPN router question

Rate this question

I am a new Torguard user (so please excuse any newbie comments below!) , trialing the software on a Windows 10 PC. My primary aim is to be able to watch TV from back home (UK) whilst here in the US.

So far so good and after a few teething issues whilst setting it up I am now able to view 4od, iPlayer and so on. The issue is that several of the channels insist you watch shows via their app which in turn don't allow you to mirror to a secondary screen  i.e. a TV. This mean I am stuck watching on an iPhone/iPad.

I suspect the answer may be to opt for the 2-year deal with Torguard and their free mini VPN router. Am I right in thinking this will sit next to the TV and provide a connection into which the TV ca plug which will put the TV 'in the UK' or am I oversimplifying it?!

Ideally I would like to remove the IOS device from the configuration and feed UK TV straight to my TV, which is wifi connected.

Any pointers much appreciated.
