WireGuard on the Way! (In Development)

Hello everyone,

We seem to be receiving more and more questions about WireGuard recently due to the extreme difference in speeds over other protocols, our developers are working hard on integrating into our Desktop apps at first and then mobile apps thereafter - our WireGuard integration will support Dedicated IP's, Port forwards, Streaming/Residential IP's and support ALL locations.

We know everyone is hoping for a design update, there will be some small changes soon but not drastic, we really don't want to change things drastically, our functionality and app flow/security is more important, the app flow will change but again not drastically, remember it's not about how one looks, it's what's inside 😉

Torguard wireguard is full compatible with dd wrt....

oh,  this version is too old,
there had 100 new versions since that one..

you have to update, here, with the last one.

Unfortunately I have a wrt 3200 and it’s a pain to set up because of the WiFi. It keeps randomly turning off on the newer builds that’s why I settled for this build. However, I have noticed when trying to add a tunnel for wireguard It has a generate key option which you must input in the VPN provider’s platform and there is nowhere to add that key on TorGuard website.  That’s the reason I was asking how you managed to get yours up and running. If the generate key in ddwrt doesn’t exist in the newer build I’m willing to give it a go. If you can kindly provide a write up or point me int he right direction that will be highly appreciated.

It is the reason why I want you upgrade the version.

The newer version has a tab to add your key.

 

If not I can tell you how with ssh and command line but your firmware wireguard version is not ok.

Too old.

I have the wrt3200acm and it works ok.

I would try the the last one yesterday or the one from June 17th.

And please start from scratch .

Take a pic of your setting.

Update without keeping your setting.

Done! With the new firmware!

Now I’m a bit stuck for the values

local public key is auto generated and so is the local private key. On TG I can see that for the server I choose there is a server public key and private key. Where do those go? 
what is the policy based routing value?

ok, first enter the ip address from torguard server... and the subnet mask : 255.255.255.0

after that, save and apply and go to :

 Setup/Networking tab, under Port Setup, the oet1 (WG) interface should
be unbridged and should have NAT enabled.

reboot router.

Now, add peer.

btw, the public key generator, dont bother.

And policy based routing it is just about which devices you want via VPN.

ok, here we go, follow my guide from yesterday, look my setup pic.. very easy..

dont forget to go to networking page / Network Configuration oet1/  and check my print screen.

James that worked perfectly! Thank you once again, for all the help and patience. 

My issue was that, I was copying the wrong private key, I copied it from Wireguard on Mac not realising that the particular key was a result of my private key and the private key.

Anyways it work well!

Really really nice tutorial James8078.

I didn't try, but I have the same router and I give up trying to configure Wireguard after some frustrated attempts with problems in my pfSense, then trying the Linksys with the new firmware with support to Wireguard and finally with a Raspberry Pi 4 that I bought and Jesus, I can't find any straightaway tutorial to use that as a VPN client, and not server.

I ended up buying a router from a project in Indiegogo (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/vilfo-the-most-powerful-vpn-router-ever-created).
According to them, they plan to support DD-WRT in the second semester (I hope like next month lol), but just for having such simple and straightforward interface, and zero problems for two weeks, it's really some peace of mind.

I still want to configure the Raspberry Pi 4 to use Wireguard, specially with Torguard, but only if I really find a guide to make that happen. Meanwhile I will keep using this amazing discovery (for me, at least) that was Vilfo.

I have this weird issue whilst using wireguard on ddwrt. My Samsung Tv is setup to use this router and all other apps work on it exceeding well except for Netflix. I have similar issues on my MacBook Pro, is this normal? Speed tests are fine and so is fast dot com, iplayer and all other are good! Anyone tried this?

Are you using a dedicated IP?  I didn’t think  Wireguard is supported yet for those. Correct me if I’m wrong.
