[SOLVED] Firefox proxy extension vs entering proxy credentials into Firefox network settings

Question

HideAndGoSeek

I've been using Torguard proxy with my torrent clients for 5 years now. I've never done anything to protect my browser (mostly Firefox). I see you have this Firefox extension, but I also see your instructions for entering the Torguard proxy credentials directly into the Firefox network settings.

What is the difference between these two methods? Only convenience?

No answer after 2 weeks so I opened a ticket with Support today. If I get a reply I will post it here.

The reply back from Torguard Support:

"Our extensions use SSL based proxies, these are only available inside the extensions."
