Are Dedicated IP's Really Anonymous??

Rate this question

Question

I read an article from another VPN's blog and at least according to them a dedicated IP can be tracked back to the " user " who purchased it? is this true? or does TorGuard somehow unlink the billing info from the dedicated IP so if you were forced be unable to tell who owns that dedicated IP?

We do not link IP's to billing accounts, everything is done automatically - there is also nothing linking between you and the IP on servers as nothing is logged.

When connected to my dedicated IP I went on this website: https://iknowwhatyoudownload.com/en/peer/

There I saw that someone who has used the same dedicated IP has downloaded child pornography on that website. Should I be worried? I surely did not do such thing.

I really want to believe. I just cant understand how this could be true. When I log into your system with my email all my information comes up, including my dedicated IP's.

This article makes a lot of sense.  I'm convinced. https://blog.windscribe.com/port-forwarding-static-ips-and-lies-bcf427fdb283

If someone can explain it away I'm all ears.

I wouldn't take this as gospel, as cool as the guy wants to sound they obviously do not see how this can be done - amongst them, they have not found a way to mitigate the so-called privacy risk when using port forwards or Dedicated IP's - or maybe they do not know how to? who knows.

The guy is asking a level 1 chat agent these questions, why not go directly to the admins? TorGuard will take good care of your privacy, that you can be sure of.

Regards
