DNS leak with viscosity

Rate this question

Question

Guest

Running window 8.

Just signed up for VPN. Dowloaded the viscosity installer as well the license document.

Updated viscosity as the installer notified there was a new version.

Selected a random server, and ran dns leak with chrome. DNS results show servers by my ISP (the company name) and also the city I am in.

I assume, there is a dns leak, how do I fix this?

I dowloaded, torguard VPN lite. With this one, dns leak shows a bunch of "Google" ISP IP addresses that I do not recognize.

Does this mean that torguard VPN lite protects my IP better than viscosity? why?

Hello

If your ISP does not show you are perfectly fine, Viscosity may not be able to set your DNS for some reason - the best way to go about this would be to assign ourself a static private IP and static DNS.

Regarding the static DNS, is that done on the viscosity network adapter? or on the actual, for example, ethernet adapter?.

Also, is DNS only changed for TCP/IPv4? what about IPv6?

Do it both on Ethernet and Wireless adapters - you just need to change IPv4 DNS.
