Different nameserver than google?

Rate this question

Question

Hi there,

Both my friend and I would like to know if there is a way to use a nameserver with the vpn connection other than google. Specifically, we wish to use a nameserver that doesn't keep logfiles.

Thanks,

Flipper

Hello Flipper

You can use any DNS you wish - we have our own secure DNS system coming which will be ready at start of February :)

Hi there,

How does one change the name servers for VPN? I'm currently using TorGuard lite on ubuntu 12.04. Help with Windows XP and 7 would also be appreciated if you would.

I'm happy to hear of the secure nameservers but I have a question: will they be keeping log files of resolution requests?

Hello Flipper

to change DNS on your version of Ubuntu runt he following:

gksudo gedit /etc/resolv.conf

Change to:

nameserver 8.8.8.8

nameserver 8.8.4.4

And save.

On XP and Windows 7 see the following: http://torguard.net/knowledgebase.php?action=displayarticle&id=86

The DNS we hold wont log any queries whatsoever :)

Regards
