Release torguard-v0.3.71, 2017-10-03
====================================

* All platforms: Fix OpenConnect reconnecting

Filter error messages when OpenConnect is trying to reconnect.
The user now will see only one message "Reconnect failed"
when OpenConnect will end. Extended the reconnecting time
up to 2 days, instead of 5 minutes.

* All platforms: Fix OpenConnect reconnection failed

Sometimes (more often in Windows) the Status windows
with RECONNECTING label was showing after OpenConnect
stopped, creating the false illusion that OpenConnect
was still trying to reconnect. The bug is fixed
in this version. When OpenConnect stops, the
  Connect window will be displayed.

* All platforms: new OpenVPN v2.4

A new version of OpenVPN is added with this version.
In order to activate it, the user must check the
"Enable OpenVPN v2.4" option and select the respective
tunnel type in the Connect window.
The new version can be configured selecting the Port/Auth
parameter as well as the Cipher parameter.
The old version v2.3 is still available.

* MacOSX: Bug fixed: Hide Icon from Dock option

The "Hide Icon from Dock" option, added in the last release,
presents a bug that sometimes prevents it to work as expected.
The bug was not reproducible in a deterministic way, due to an
"undefined behaviour" inside the code. The bug is fixed
  in this release.

* Linux: Security issue fixed

Don't call a generic "ip" command but look for "/bin/ip" or "/sbin/ip".
The real ip command (required by TorGuard) must be in one of
  these two paths.

* Linux: Install local OpenSSL with TorGuard
Compile ShadowSocks with new version of OpenSSL (static)
Compile OpenVPN 2.3 with new version of OpenSSL (static)
Compile OpenVPN 2.4 with new version of OpenSSL (static)

The OpenSSL preinstalled in some machines is not
compatible with the OpenSSL Qt is compiled against.
This creates some log errors, or even malfunctions in
some worse cases. Now the correct OpenSSL libraries needed
are delivered together with TorGuard itself.
Moreover, the names of the OpenSSL libraries used in some
Operative System can be different from the standard ones
(in particular in new versions of Arch and Fedora).
In particular, this makes ShadowSocks not able to connect
in these machines. The problem can be extended to other
Operative Systems in the near future. To avoid it, OpenVPN
and ShadowSocks are now compiled with static libraries,
hence they are independent from the OpenSSL version
  preinstalled in the System.
OpenSSL v1.0.2l was used for this version of TorGuard.

Internal Changes:
-----------------

* Linux 32 bits: rebuilt Qt5.7 with SSL support

A wrong built of Qt5.7 without SSL support was used.
Users using 32 bits Linux were able to connect with the
VPN as expected, but they were not able to download
new configurations or to check the "WhatIsMyIp" inside TorGuard
(a "Detect failed" message was visible instead of the correct
message "Verified" in the status window).
In this version we recompiled Qt5.7 with SSL support.
A compilation time check is added in the code to prevent

  this problem in the future.

Can confirm 'Hide Icon from Dock' option now works on 10.12.6. However when I click on the dock icon nothing happens! Would be nice if we saw the TorGuard application window appear. Same behaviour when clicking on the menu bar icon > show/hide option. Thanks!

what port to use with 2.4 and SHA1? I guess SHA1 is ok? Also AES-128-CBC should be fine for most cases?

Now I'm constantly getting the "osascript wants to make changes" message!  Every single time I try to run TorGuard.  It does not matter if I give it my password, it still asks me next time I start the program.  Where are the older versions of your software so I can downgrade to 0.3.70 until you can fix this bug?

In WIN 8.1 uninstalled tap then installed update selected tap driver 9.9.2_3 I think it was as it looked newer anyway had to restart system netsh fail.

After restart login in OK connected to Sydney server came back to https://torguard.net/index.phpand it's showing real IP and ISP but the APP is telling me connected and logged in..

Disconected and reconnected seems to be working  for now only updated 3 hours ago..

Because we implemented the new openvpn 2.4 binary it activated the old osascript code - we are releasing a new build for mac in the next 2 hours to fix this, sorry guys.

Older versions can be found here http://updates.torguard.biz/Software/MacOSX/

Hi

The windows client is on windows 10 for me causing BSOD with

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

nwifi.sys

On connecting

It might be the TUN/TAP driver

I have send a support ticket, but though others might have the same issue, thus this forum threat as well

Hey Drans

We have had no other user complaining of such issue, nwifi.sys appears to be a Windows system file and so i would highly suspect its an issue on Windows side or maybe you need to update your network driver?

Do you happen to have the IPv6 option checked and have you set any custom DNS options under the network tab?

IPv6 mean? I have checked to prevent a leak from IPv6. With DNS only block outside DNS and I am using openDNS but tried also VPN DNS and it is the same. I also have disconnections sometimes and the software can't reconnect itself, i have to do it manually. But this does not happen very often, maybe once in a 2-3 days.

There is a number of reason on why these things could happen, it would be best have one of our support staff logon and take a quick look for you and see what they can find.

You can request a  TM here https://torguard.net/submitticket.php
