suggestion for next release

Hi guys,

I'm a new user of Torguard.

Would like to make a suggestion for v.0.3.67's future release.

I realized that the app doesn't have a option to reconnect itself when the computer is put into standby or hibernate mode. I never really do a complete shutdown of my computer, so this would be a great way for the user to get connected without haven't to click connect everytime the computer is coming out of sleep mode. Is there a way program a reconnect function like this?

Hello,

Thanks for your suggestion.

Right now the app should try to reconnect indefinitely until it finds a gateway, coming out of sleep mode it should reconnect just fine but if not it could be a DNS issue - try setting the more settings >> network >>  IP Lookup to "Direct IP"

We are however working on a more seamless reconnect option for our next release that should solve all these issues.

Regards

Nope, It gives me a error box saying "NETSH: command fail".

I need to press okay and manually reconnect.

Ok, if you disable IPv6 Leak protection (for testing) under more settings >> network tab >> does hit solve the netsh issue ?

It can pose a potential problem if you have an IPV6 address, as it can leak your location even if you are connected to a VPN which uses IPV4. You can test for IPV6 leaks here: http://ipv6leak.com — also give this tool a go too: http://test-ipv6.com/

To disable IPV6 functionality:

  1. Right click the network icon in the system tray

  2. Click Network and Sharing Center
  3. Now click Change adapter settings from the top left side

  4. Right click your main adapter and select Properties.
  5. Uncheck Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)

As per Torguard's reply, check and see if you have any IPv6 enabled using the following site: http://test-ipv6.com/

If not your OK, if you have then we can dig further and see what up with your system.

Regards
