  2. Okay, so I've done a lot of reading, it's safe to say. I asked tech support on the live chat, however, I think I had just too many questions and information and didn't know what answers I really needed. From the top. I purchased Torguard in an effort to torrent, without getting the little notices that say 'hey, knock that sh** off.' I have gotten two copyright infringement notices from ATT so far, rather, the owner of the connection has. I've since had to work my way back to actually getting the logins (albeit not through her) and I don't want to get her into any more trouble. That being said. I've read, I learned Torguard was rated highly for VPN & torrenting, and I got the anonymous proxy to go with it. There is a plethora of information out there but nothing that I can completely wrap my head around, even having a strong working knowledge of computers since Windows 95 and B&W monitors. I'm not new, but I am new to this. I understand the VPN software is an easy little click and its supposedly on, I can verify to some extent that it is working, but I cannot be sure that it remains connected or that the connection drops with the VPN - which I am not even sure of how to notice if it drops! There are ***proxy*** configuration pages for different torrent programs, but I don't see information on port forwarding, or setting up the connection to the VPN directly, and the ones that I do see have equally as many posts complaining that they have leaks due to the connection dropping and the client using data outside the vpn tunnel. I don't need a 100% hand walkthrough, but a guide or video that points to the answers would be awesome. Answers that aren't immediately thwarted by one thing or another - proper configuration for my situation, I suppose. The ISP is ATT Uverse, they have provided a 5268AC, which I connect to through a wireless adapter to ethernet (connection is faster, idk why, it just is). I am running Comodo Firewall on the machine and I would like to use bitcomet or something similar, because I would like to have access to the KAD network. I have been trying to figure this out for hours and I can't...I know I need to open ports, I don't know where to do that, the concept just plain eludes me right now, and I know this stuff well enough to be dangerous but apparently not well enough to be safe! HELP! Please, and thank you!
  3. Hey, I'm trying to setup Qbittorrent but everytime I connect my VPN, that is using a Pinned IP address and I have setup port forwarding on that IP. I have also setup Qbittorrent to use the port in question and canyouseeme.org reports that the port is open. The problem is that no peers are able to connect. The trackers are there, there are hundreds of peers, just no one connects so no uploads happen. I have attempted to use utorrent and deluge, and are met with the same results, little to no peers connecting, and little to no upload speeds. When I disconnect the VPN and attempt to seed, it connects peers but it still uploads at a very slow rate, if at all. I'm using a Tplink Archer C7 with DD-wrt flashed on it. I do not have port forwarding setup on the router. I assumed that it wouldn't look at the router for that stuff because the VPN is handling that.
  4. Nowadays, it is prudent to protect your privacy when downloading torrents on the net. A few lawsuits have recently been brought against ISP's by businesses seeking damages from users allegedly downloading illegal content. This post explains how to set up Torguard VPN on Transmission installed in the FreeNas server. Click here to view.
  5. Using VPN specifically for private torrent downloading. Followed Knowledge Base instructions and used the checkMyTorrent tool but error is "offline (timed out)" which isn't covered. I have tried different proxy setups but cannot get it started. Is there another guide or way to set bittorrent/utorrent up with Torguard VPN??
  6. I'm trying to follow this guide to forward a port for torrenting purposes, but it doesn't mention anything about a VPN. I've have a UDP port open in my Torguard dashboard with a pinned VPN IP. What do I do from here? On a side note, I've seen it recommended that you shouldn't open a port via your router, however as far as I can this is what the guide linked to above instructs you to do. Is the guide dangerous, or am I misunderstanding?
  7. Hello, I am struggling with my different configuration to get a decent download rate with torrents. I have followed the different guides and faqs provided by Torguard, but my dl speed rarely goes above 100ko/s (Without Torguard, I usual dl at 2Mb/s) On Deluge network settings, I have set port 50799 to be used On Proxy settings, I have selected SocksV5+Auth for each proxy, using host proxy.torguard.org and port 1090 On my physical router, I have set a route for port 50799 and 1090 (internal + external) on both protocol TCP & UDP to be redirected to the IP Address of my computer (private IP 192.168.1.1). Does anyone have an idea what setting could be wrong or missing ? Thanks !
  8. Hi, Just noticed in viscosity, the number of locations with two asterisks (**) just dropped by half or so. Anyone else noticed this? cheers!

    Ridiculously low speeds

So I have a 110 mbit connection, and the best I'm getting from any server I connect to is 8 mbit. I'm meant to be getting faster than that, right? My torrents download at about 200KB/s. It's un-acc-eptable. Are there some settings I can tweak? Need some help here, TORGuard is basically useless to me at the moment.
  10. Hi, I am new to using the torrent proxy. Have set it up correctly in utorrent and tested it and all works fine - except when I begin to download. My usual download speed is 2 - 3 mb/s, with the proxy on I"m crawling to 1.3mb/s at best and usually way, way less. It seems very erratic. Sometimes it stalls completely. Is this to be expected? - using proxy.torguard.org on port 1090 - when proxy is on, Incoming TCP port has "Connection Status:Not connectable" If this matters? Any help greatly appreciated !!! Thank you~~
  11. Hello How some forums and torrent tracker know that I to use VPN? It happened to me that I was banned from one torrent tracker because I used VPN... all IP addresses that from torguard this torrent tracker recognized that is not my real IP address, and persistently sought to me that I log once from right address, Of course I did not agree to give them real ip... The same situation so with some forums... Screenshot for forum that I wanted today register: http://uploadpie.com/coSt3 I test my DNS Leak via http://torguard.net/vpn-dns-leak-test.phpand https://www.dnsleaktest.com/ and it shows that everything is OK...I also have WebRTC disabled I do not know why all my torguard address some web sites detected as spam,it is normal that becaose some web pages used advanced protection? Sorry for bad Eneglish Thanks
  12. For some reason the Stealth doesn't work on my torGuard. Is it enough that I just connect through another city to be secure or do I need to do an encryption? Cheers
  13. Hello. I've been using the Anonymous Torrent Proxy service for nine months now, and I have a suspicion that I've been making a mistake in my usage. I have Bittorrent, and my settings on it are configured. I also have the Torguard application. I always open the Torguard application before opening Bittorrent, and I've been under the impression that it's needed to have Bittorrent connect through the proxy. After mistakenly leaving the default on Bittorrent to open on start up, I accidentally had it running for some time today without having opened Torguard. Despite this, the "Check My IP" torrent was giving me the "Success" message in it's trackers. This leads me to suspect. Do configured torrent clients work through the proxy even without the Torguard application open and connected? Is my privacy secure running Bittorrent on it's own with the settings correct? Have I exposed my private information at any point? Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  14. Hey So new to the service I like it but I have a question with respect to using the torrent proxy .. Is it possible that my actual ip could leak at anytime ? Would it be better to use it via my VPN ??
  15. I find that US servers in TorGuardPRO.zip do not connect to torrent trackers. Is this by design?
