Progress or Solution on Enable Torguard Stealth on Router
online posted a question in VPN Questions and General Support
Dear Support, I submitted a ticket before regarding setting up Torguard in any compatible router using Stealth port. I was told by the tech this is only supported on DD-WRT firmware versions r24xx to r29xx. (Don’t know why) I read through the official documentations about the related instructions, none of which mentioned enabling stealth feature. In the OpenVPN configuration generator tool, stealth port is not an option. Also, as far as I know the stealth feature uses direct IP of the server rather than the domain name. What is Torguard's plan and progress about this issue? Will Torguard develop or update the instruction document for the clients, which is easy to read and operate. By the way, I am currently in China and has been happy with Torguard for the price and the product. It is not urgent; I just want to know how I can make Torguard more effective and efficient. Thank you for your support and attention. -
Since the update of the Windows client, I have been intrigued by the Stunnel feature. I'm a noob, so I hope somebody can explain to me, in layman's terms, the difference between Torguard's Stealth Proxy and Stunnel features? Which is better in protecting privacy, for example, when downloading torrents? Thanks in advance.

It looks like "stealth mode" is using openvpn's scramble obfuscate option. It also looks like it is sending data over port 4443. Can I use stealth mode over port 443? I only have port 80 and 443 outgoing. Edit: Now I am thinking that I need to use an stunnel on port 443, and run the vpn through that. So now I am trying to figure out how to change the stunnel port to 443 on the Linux client. Edit2: I tried changing the stunnel from port 8447 to port 443 when connecting to one particular server. It did not work. Do any Torguard servers support stunnel on port 443? Thanks.

My office building's public WiFi blocks VPN connections. I was never able to connect to my former VPN host when on that network. I hoped that TorGuard's Stealth mode would solve this problem for me. Unfortunately, TorGuard VPN will not connect when I am connected to my office WiFi. I am using the Windows TG client. I have tried selecting the Los Angeles "Stealth" connection, both with and without the manual Stealth Proxy option. I have tried selecting other US connections, both with and without the Stealth Proxy option. Nothing works. The client just cycles between WAIT -> AUTH -> RECONNECTING endlessly. (When I'm not on my office WiFi, I have no problem getting TorGuard to connect properly.) I submitted a ticket to TorGuard Support, but they have been unhelpful. Anyone have any ideas what I can try? Are there log files for the Windows TG client that I can examine to see if there are any clues?

Configure router to mask VPN use as best as possible
pythoncheese posted a question in VPN Router Support
I have an Asus RT-AC68u and the Merlin firmware. I am trying to access sites that restrict VPN use, and they are pretty good at detecting it. I am not very technically inclined, it was quite a challenge for me to flash this firmware, but I am lost on how to configure the router with the torguard servers, and which of the hundreds of settings I need to use to best mask the VPN use. Any thoughts / tips would be appreciated! -- I have followed the setup guide, but my VPN use is still detectable. I am not detected using stealth vpn when I connect, but the router setup guide has me detectable. -
I might be misunderstanding something, but seeing how TorGuard's own client had stealth options and viscosity did not, I was wondering if setting up the VPN on the router also excluded stealth options? If not, what is the difference in settings compared to the other tutorials here? DD-WRT for instance? Getting ready to buy a router for this. Just need to understand first before I waste the money. I want the VPN tunnel created by the router to also be stealth.

When I first started using TorGuard they had stealth VPN servers. One by one they stopped working and now I can't seem to find anything about them. Does anyone know if TorGuard stopped offering stealth VPNs. If they still offer them, how do I get a listing of the servers? Thanks.

Stealth servers disappeared from Linux client MONTS ago!
SnowSlug posted a question in VPN Linux Support
The stealth servers disappeared from the Linux client months ago. I did a support ticket months ago, and they said they were about to fix this... months ago! What's up, folks? This isn't a difficult to debug software glitch... it's just a matter of configuration, -
Can I use another city to torrent or does it have to be Stealth?
First_time_caller posted a topic in General Stuff
For some reason the Stealth doesn't work on my torGuard. Is it enough that I just connect through another city to be secure or do I need to do an encryption? Cheers
