Help setting up a VPN router

So I've had TG for years but just recently been interested in setting up a VPN router so that all traffic will be anonymized from the beginning. Mostly will want it for my smartTV and certain geolocated sports apps (go Mets!) as well as possibly setting up a media server. I just ditched Verizon and got Comcast installed this weekend b/c I heard setting up OpenVPN through the router might be the way to go and Verizon's proprietary equipment will make that much harder/impossible. The modem/router combo I got was Netgear CM700 modem and Archer C4000 router b/c for some reason I thought the C4000 was on the DD-WRT list of supported routers, turns out it isn't. It does have an option to use OpenVPN however. Can somebody steer me in the right direction to get this combo up and running as a VPN router? Should I use the OpenVPN option on my router and configure that somehow to use with TG? or should I return it and get a compatible tomato/ww-DRT router and flash it? or is there a different method my smooth brain hasn't heard of yet. I'm a fairly technically competent person, aka i cant break out a soldering pen but I can follow clear directions... usually. Many Thanks! I appreciate any help/info on the matter.

    whole-home Wireguard VPN on dd-wrt

I've been looking around, and I know it's still relatively new and all, but I haven't been able to find a whole-home torguard dd-wrt wireguard guide/set-up... I have seen the excellent OpenVPN write ups like this one on how to set up OpenVPN on newer DD-WRT setups: https://torguard.net/knowledgebase.php?action=displayarticle&id=262 I'm looking for that article, just with wireguard instructions instead. If someone can write one up, I'm sure it would be beneficial to a lot of people. On the other hand, I may be a lousy searcher and it may already have been written. If this is the case, please remind me that search is my friend and be a pal and throw in the link for me too please ;x -cheers
  3. Hello all. I recently dusted off an old Linksys WRT54G-TM (T-mobile Edition), and managed to put dd wrt v24-sp2 (09/19/08) mega on it. I tired to follow the step by step guide here http://torguard.net/knowledgebase.php?action=displayarticle&id=47 but its a little different for the version i am running. Instead of openvpn server mine displays open vpn daemon. I managed to put in the command script but it's just not working. Also does the linksys need to be my main router out to the internet for this to work?
