  1. After using uTorrent 2.2.1 forever, I had a torrent with larger piece size that it could not handle, so I decided to try the newest version of uTorrent. Everything transferred over fine, my settings were all the same as well as my seeding torrents, but I can not get it to work with this proxy at all. It works on public trackers, and it works on all trackers with the proxy disabled, but I can't connect to seed or download on any private trackers. All of them give me a Proxy Connect Error Offline. All of my settings, ports, login, etc. have all been double checked as the same as in 2.2.1 to no avail. Can anyone help?
  2. I am using the latest uTorrent on Win10, connecting via SOCKS5. Everything works fine. Downloads are fast. But then the queue in uTorrent becomes inactive (empty or 'all done'). When this happens, and I add new torrents, uTorrent fails to connect. The fix is simple - restart uTorrent. I wonder if it's a bug in uTorrent software or some incompatibility with TorGuard's SOCKS5 proxies.
  3. Okay, so I've done a lot of reading, it's safe to say. I asked tech support on the live chat, however, I think I had just too many questions and information and didn't know what answers I really needed. From the top. I purchased Torguard in an effort to torrent, without getting the little notices that say 'hey, knock that sh** off.' I have gotten two copyright infringement notices from ATT so far, rather, the owner of the connection has. I've since had to work my way back to actually getting the logins (albeit not through her) and I don't want to get her into any more trouble. That being said. I've read, I learned Torguard was rated highly for VPN & torrenting, and I got the anonymous proxy to go with it. There is a plethora of information out there but nothing that I can completely wrap my head around, even having a strong working knowledge of computers since Windows 95 and B&W monitors. I'm not new, but I am new to this. I understand the VPN software is an easy little click and its supposedly on, I can verify to some extent that it is working, but I cannot be sure that it remains connected or that the connection drops with the VPN - which I am not even sure of how to notice if it drops! There are ***proxy*** configuration pages for different torrent programs, but I don't see information on port forwarding, or setting up the connection to the VPN directly, and the ones that I do see have equally as many posts complaining that they have leaks due to the connection dropping and the client using data outside the vpn tunnel. I don't need a 100% hand walkthrough, but a guide or video that points to the answers would be awesome. Answers that aren't immediately thwarted by one thing or another - proper configuration for my situation, I suppose. The ISP is ATT Uverse, they have provided a 5268AC, which I connect to through a wireless adapter to ethernet (connection is faster, idk why, it just is). I am running Comodo Firewall on the machine and I would like to use bitcomet or something similar, because I would like to have access to the KAD network. I have been trying to figure this out for hours and I can't...I know I need to open ports, I don't know where to do that, the concept just plain eludes me right now, and I know this stuff well enough to be dangerous but apparently not well enough to be safe! HELP! Please, and thank you!
  4. Hi, I have setup a VirtualBox with Windows 7 on it, installed uTorrent and TorGuard VPN Client too. When I am protected through the VPN with TorGuard the portforwarding does not seems to work. I see that my Dedicated Ip is used by uTorrent and I have requested a port to be opened in my Client Area, fixed Windows Firewall on the VirtualBox (idk if it is necessary to have one there tho), even open port on router. I feel I miss something, somewhere else I need to open the port. I use Bridge Network in VirtualBox. Best Regards, BrooBee
  5. Hi, ever since I started using Torguard I am getting a weird thing happening where one or more torrents will be added and will say "connecting to peers" for a long time (sometimes a few hours) before beginning the download. When the torrents finally do start, they all seem to start at once (if there are more than one). I'm using uTorrent. Does anyone have the same problem or know what the problem might be? Thanks.
  6. uTorrent (OS X) When the proxy is off - Connection status: Connection Working When the proxy is on - Connection status: not connectable Tried all three proxy server ports: 1080, 1085, 1090 Tried manual TorGuard proxy ip addresses from the TorGuard proxy servers list. Set manual DNS entries for my OS. LAN: Set a manual IP address for my computer outside of my router's DHCP range. LAN: Tried manual port forwarding in the router. checkmytorrentip does report "Success" Despite the "not connectable" warning I do seem to make some connections. But seems I'm not in an optimal position here.
  7. Hello, Yes I am still fairly new at this so I shall thank you all for your patience in advance. I am in Australia, running Windows 7. I have set up uTorrent to the socks5 proxy.torguard.org as per the knowledge base article. However, when I try downloading torrents there are no connections what so ever. So my questions are: Now that the proxy is set up, do I sill have to connect to the VPN prior to downloading torrents, selecting a server that is Bittorrent Optimised. Or, do I not have to connect to the VPN and the Proxy will handle it all? (if the latter is the case, than to be connected to a VPN and torrent at the same time, do I need to disable the proxy?) Is there any other steps I need to carry out other than those listed in the knowledge base article to allow for torrent traffic? Your help is all greatly appreciated.
