  1. Hello everyone, We seem to be receiving more and more questions about WireGuard recently due to the extreme difference in speeds over other protocols, our developers are working hard on integrating into our Desktop apps at first and then mobile apps thereafter - our WireGuard integration will support Dedicated IP's, Port forwards, Streaming/Residential IP's and support ALL locations. We know everyone is hoping for a design update, there will be some small changes soon but not drastic, we really don't want to change things drastically, our functionality and app flow/security is more i

  4. I have successfully used wireguard to connect to the "wireguard" servers listed in the support page; however, I am looking to connect via wireguard to one of the dedicated IP servers I have on my account. Is anyone aware if this is available now and, if so, how to set it up, or if there is any timeline on when it will be available?

  5. Hello, As everyone knows of the Kaspersky issue by now, the following steps will resolve the problem it seems until they fix there end: 1. Disable Kaspersky product’s self-defense: https://support.kaspersky.com/14818 2. Open regedit (press Windows+R keys, type regedit and click OK, see https://support.kaspersky.com/common/diagnostics/8576#block2). 3. Go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\kneps] key and create new DWORD parameter NoDefrag with value 1 (or just run kneps_no_dfg.reg file from attached archive). 4. Enable Kaspersky product’s self-defense back.

The new update you guys are working on is a big improvement/change and I think the users are excited to see it and use it. I know I am.

  20. Interim further testing indicates you need to connect to your chosen VPN server on port 1912 for port forwarding to work - despite being able to choose from all connecting ports (1194, 1195 etc) for establishing your VPN on the port forwarding setup form. Obviously you can choose any unused port to forward. Don't forget you'll likely need to forward the same port as both TCP and UDP for torrenting.

  22. Protocol: TCP is more reliable, bypasses firewalls that ban UDP traffic. Use if A: You are behind a restricted network(School, Government, Corporate Business), or B: You only surf the web/check emails, or various other light tasks that don't require speed). UDP is more faster, best for downloading, streaming, gaming. Use this if you have no issues connecting to stuff and require fastest speeds. Cipher: Cipher is the level of encryption the VPN will use, which will basically scramble your data in a unreadable format so if someone is spying on your network connections they won't be

  25. glad it worked, you are welcome Actually yes, simply rerunning tginstall, as your credentials and so on are saved in /etc/config/torguard, just change before that server ip which is saved in /etc/config/torguard You can list your settings with: uci show torguard To set it , uci set ... The script from post 2 created interface tgwg0, you can delete that one in web interface or with uci delete, So, to change your server IP with uci, run simply: uci set [email protected]_tg0[0].endpoint_host='123.123.123.2' uci commit torguard (or edit with nano or any text

  26. Actually the fact that many users are using the same IP address gives you increased security since any actions taken by a single user could never be pinpointed since many people use that server.

  33. I'm really glad to see how active you guys are working on WireGuard, and I'd rather see a working implementation with a bit of a delay than a non functional on-time one. But it would be really awesome if you'd start looking into other features to implement afterwards as well for example, TorGuard is PERFECT for streaming with the nice streaming IPs, but when I use them I only use them to, well, actually stream. But currently my entire PC has to be connected to the VPN, as there is no split tunneling on PC. I do get that split tunneling isn't easy to implement (especially for Windows, Mac

I was a bit optimistic I admit, also excited but yes thats very true, theres always something that holds you back once you set a time limit and I can understand users getting frustrated, rest assured we are working as fast as we can, we have had our fair share of issues to fix, we are very close though, the tricky parts are done Thanks for your patience everyone.

  38. TorGuard Overlords, With the allowance of 5 simultaneous logins per account, is there any scope to create a unique username/password for these logins? Having the ability to add sub-logins would allow family members/etc to be given VPN access which can easily be revoked at a later date should the need arise. Currently, requiring the primary account holder to do a password reset to achieve the same outcome is a nuisance and requires additional overhead that could be removed with this new feature. For your consideration eikcam

However the username used to Connect to a VPN Tunnel Through the VPN software or a Proxy is different at least for me it is. Here is a link to the page used to change/edit your information used to connect to the VPN services > https://torguard.net/clientarea.php?action=changepw I hope this helps

  44. UPDATE!!! It's the TAP adapter. By default client installs 9.21 tap adapter. I tried the 9.9 version offered in setup and no issues. I don't know why 9.21 is default on Win 7 x64, but it really introduces bad latency when having multiple streams.

  45. I had some issues earlier but support live chat helped me out. The app installed with some default settings which may not be optimal for port forwarding, not sure. Support recommended these changes: I was already connecting with OpenVPN over UDP but with a stronger cipher and a different port. I didn't modify my TorGuard DNS settings (just using DHCP and VPN-pushed once connected, instead of Google for everything). I did however uncheck 'Seamless Reconnect' (what does that do?) and I also checked WebRTC Leak Prevent. IPv6 Leak Prevent was already checked. I'd already a

  46. Hi JessiTom, you are right, normally that would be the case. The problem is that OpenVPN encryption is single threaded i.e. can use only one CPU core, no matter what. This is also the reason why OpenVPN on routers was/is relatively slow --> CPU is the bottleneck. What merlin does (among other things) is using the routers CPU core 2 to maintain all "normal" router functions like firewall, routing, MAC access etc etc and core 1 will focus on encryption. This way you get the max bandwidth (encryption wise) out of your router. Otherwise all would be balanced (as you al

  47. Hi, On system startup, TorGuard's client seems to startup pretty late for me (one of the last autostart programs). Is there a way to make it start faster? Higher its autostart priority or something like that? I've configured my Firewall to not allow any connection that's not coming from TorGuards OpenVPN adapter. The consequence is that I'm always unable to access the internet when TorGuard is not connected, resulting in error messages when connecting to steam etc. on startup. If TorGuard would be called faster, there'd be enough time.

  48. Both are good options - the shadowsocks (stealth proxy) will be removed in our next release - we find it slower than stunnel and less adequate at bypassing certain firewalls. Regards
